How Soy Can Help With Lung Cancer

There is a marked chance that soy eaters have lower rates of lung cancer, especially eaters of unfermented soy products like tofu. There is still no proof that soy itself is protective, compounds in the soy called isoflavones have shown to cure cancer cell growth in the lab. Researchers have come to mixed conclusions while studying the link between diet and lung cancer, Chinese and U.S. scientists have gotten an overview of the medical literature. Eleven observational studies were found, which followed people for a decade or longer.

Results show that people who got the most soy in their diet had a 23 percent lower risk of lung cancer than those who got the least. According to the American Cancer Society, about 8 percent of men have chances of developing lung cancer, while about 6 percent of women do. The link between soy and cancer is only held for unfermented products such as tofu and soy milk, to offer two examples.
